A Review Of Hedge Trimmers On The Argos Website

Argos

Argos is one of those stores that sell pretty much everything. And they have an impressive selection of garden implements and equipment too, which of course includes hedge trimmers.

How do I find the website?

The Argos home page can be found by going to www.argos.co.uk.

A Selection of the Best Selling Hedge Trimmers from Argos

How can I reach the section containing hedge trimmers?

Take a look at the blue strips running across the top of the page. You will see an option for garden and DIY. Once you enter that section you should look for garden power tools; this should be on the left hand side.

That section is helpfully broken down by type so you can see the option for hedge trimmers. The complete URL for that page is http://www.argos.co.uk/static/.

Does it have a good selection of hedge trimmers?

Yes, there were around twenty on the site at the time of writing, and none of those listings were for additional items like replacement blades or blade covers either.

You will be able to find petrol trimmers here, as well as the more basic electric and cordless versions. Another thing to notice is that they have a couple of trimmers which basically look like little baby versions of the real thing. These work in the same way but they are intended more for pruning shrubs than for cutting back bushes.

Are there any recognisable brand names on offer?

Yes, once again you have a good choice here within the range they offer. For example, Black and Decker and Bosch are both present, along with Spear and Jackson and the familiar orange hedge trimmers that belong to the Flymo brand.

Some other less familiar names to home gardeners are also included – these are Worx and Challenge.

Is the site loaded with information?

The Argos site has always been very easy to access and find your way around, and the same applies when you want to find out all you can about a product. As soon as you click on the one you like you will be rewarded with a stream of information about it. This is contained in a useful details box, which bullet points everything so you only get pure information and no real sales spiel.

Clicking on the larger image link gives you a pop up window with a good quality picture in it; this enables you to see it more clearly – even down to how the teeth on the hedge trimmer blade are designed.

You will also instantly be able to see whether the item is available to pick up locally, or whether it needs to be delivered. Most of the hedge trimmers can be picked up if you wish – only the ones at the most expensive end of the range are for delivery only.

Scrolling right down to the bottom of the page enables you to access all the other information you might need. There is a link to the site map, along with delivery information, customer services and various other links you might find useful. It is always good to find out as much as you can before you place an order for delivery or collection.

How easy is it to order a hedge trimmer online?

Very easy – and as mentioned above, you can go through the order process to reserve your hedge trimmer to be picked up from your nearest store. Alternatively opt for the delivery choice. When you go through to the trolley page you will be able to see what options you have available, and you can then make sure you know what delivery charge will apply to the hedge trimmer you have chosen.

You can also scroll further down this page to read all about the details for pick up and delivery, as they apply to you.

In conclusion

Argos is one of the first places that many people think of when they need to buy something for their home or garden. And as we have seen, they certainly have a good range of hedge trimmers to consider when you need to cut back on that unruly hedge!

The trick is to think carefully about what you need before you order. If you are going to be using it regularly you might want to spend a bit more and get a more robust one – perhaps a cordless one for an easier life.

But whatever you decide to buy, you can be sure that Argos will offer you a good price for it.

  1. I bought a Challenge 18v Cordless Hedge Trimmer about 18 months ago and although I havn’t used it for a few months I made sure it was charged regularly. Went to use it recently and it is not working. It may be the battery but do not know where to buy one. Any suggestions??
