The garden is arguably the best place you can possibly be during the summer months. Spring is a time of transition, when you have to sweep up the dirt that remains from the months when you were indoors in the warm. New flowers are starting to bloom and you can see the promise of a new garden for a new year ahead of you.
You may already have got your hedge trimmers out to give the hedges in your garden a trim. The lawn mower might just have made its first appearance as well. But don’t worry if you haven’t managed to tackle these jobs yet; there is still time to think about getting started.
If you haven’t done these jobs yet, now is a good time to make sure all the garden equipment you own is ready and raring to go for the warmer months ahead. If you keep the equipment stored in the shed, open up the shed when you have an hour or two to spare and check everything over. You should always ensure the equipment is in good condition before you use it after a long period of time.
For example you should check the blades on your lawn mower to make sure they don’t need replacing before you use it. Check also that your hedge trimmer is in good working order and is ready to be used. Sheds are typically excellent places to keep these items, but you should ensure there are no signs of mice around when you open it up. Mice are notorious for chewing all kinds of things, so always check the power cord to ensure there are no problems with it. This should always be done anyway to ensure it is safe to use.
Simply spending an hour or so tidying the shed, checking the condition of all the garden equipment you have in there and perhaps getting the garden table back out and onto the patio is a good thing to do. It helps to prepare you for the months ahead and reminds you of all the little jobs that need to be done.
Most people enjoy getting out into the garden when the weather starts brightening up. Wouldn’t you like to do the same and make a good start on the year ahead in the garden? Why not allocate some time now to do just that?
