McCulloch

McCulloch probably won’t be the first name that comes to mind when it is finally time to give up that old hedge trimmer and buy a new one. But you might just know of the name Husqvarna, and that is the group of which McCulloch is a part.

So if you have some cash at the ready, let’s see whether it would be well spent on a McCulloch hedge trimmer, shall we?

A Selection of the Best Selling McCulloch Hedge Trimmers

What types of hedge trimmer do they make?

They have created a small range of trimmers that come in both petrol and electric run types. They do not appear to have any cordless models available.

They are made in yellow and black, and have handles positioned in just the right places. These make it easy to pick up and use the trimmer without it feeling awkward to do so.

Why should you choose a hedge trimmer made by them?

Firstly they have over half a century worth of experience and background that has gone into all their products. You will find that their hedge trimmers are well designed with a nice shape and feel as well.

The petrol ones are easy to get going and perform well, while the corded ones are just as versatile if you have a long extension lead at hand. They also fall into a cheaper price range than many more advanced hedge trimmers do – particularly when it comes to the petrol run ones.

When we say they are more expensive though, they don’t quite fall into that range of being out of reach. So if you are looking for a nice hedge trimmer that won’t see you out of pocket, McCulloch could provide the answer you are looking for.

What price ranges do they fall into?

You are essentially talking about spending over £100 on your brand new McCulloch hedge trimmer. Anywhere between £100 and £200 would be the best bet to expect when shopping around. As far as the petrol models are concerned, you will often find they come in rather cheaper than some other petrol brands.

The corded versions are not the cheapest you will find, but they are an affordable alternative for those who want something longer lasting and more solid.

What kind of information can you find on their website?

You need to be a bit careful when it comes to finding their website, as it is easy to go wrong here. The address you need to go for is www.mcculloch.biz. You can then select the UK as your country and that takes you into www.mcculloch.info. If you try visiting the mccullochpower.com address you won’t find any hedge trimmers at all.

It takes a few clicks to get to the page which shows you three hedge trimmers to look at. Click on any one of the pictures you see there and the product page – such as it is – will appear before your eyes.

Rather disappointingly there isn’t a lot there to read. A slightly larger picture of the hedge trimmer in question is presented, along with three or four lines of technical data. There is no practical information included at all.

There is a promising looking link to print up the product information, but this opens another web page with the same information on it to be printed. There is a link which purports to take you into their web shop, but at the time of writing this did not appear to work.

Your best bet if you want to find out as much data about the hedge trimmers before you buy is to type the model number you need into a search engine. You can then look them up and see what they have to offer on various websites that actually sell them.

In conclusion

The website for McCulloch is a little difficult to get to grips with. But fortunately the same cannot be said of their hedge trimmers.

You will usually find that some brands have a huge range and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of difference between the different models. But those that have only two or three tend to make sure that each one stands out as being very different from its cousins.

This could definitely be said of McCulloch hedge trimmers. Even if you don’t want a petrol one it is nice to have the option. And of course each and every hedge trimmer here is well made, well presented and reasonably affordable too.
